Check in Script: Mascot Only, <45min
Hi ___client_____, this is __name_____ your cartoon character actress playing ____character____ scheduled for __date___ checking in for your event from ___ to ___ at ______address______. I also have a note that _____payment details______.
I wanted to touch base to make sure everything goes smoothly for your event 🙂
When I arrive at the event, I’ll text you so you can meet me at my car where I’ll put the suit on over my clothes.
Like it says in the info sheet Jessica sent over, I have really limited visibility in the suit, so I need a handler to walk, interact with kids, check the time for me, and keep everyone safe. It’s also extremely hot in the suit, so I need to make sure I’m not going to be in direct sun since it can get over 110° very quickly in the suit.
Can you let me know where the best parking is so the kids don’t see me arrive, as well as who will be able to stand next to me for the entire duration of my visit?
Thanks! I’m looking forward to it 🙂

I know all of this is in the info sheet Jess sent you, but I just want to touch base about 3 important things:
First, I have really limited visibility in the suit, so I need a handler to walk, interact with kids, check the time for me, and keep everyone safe. Can you let me know who will help me navigate walking and stand next to me to during my visit?
It’s also extremely hot in the suit, so I need to make sure I’m not going to be in direct sun since it can get over 110° very quickly in the suit. Can you confirm that I’ll be in the shade or in climate control?
Third, for every hour I’m there I need a 15min break to cool down and drink water. Do you have a space set up for me to change in and out of the suit, as well as take a break and rehydrate?
Thanks! I’m looking forward to it 🙂
Check in Script: Mascot + Art Form(s)
Hi ___client_____, this is __name_____ your cartoon character actress playing ____character____ and doing ___art forms_____ scheduled for __date___ checking in for your event from ___ to ___ at ______address______. I also have a note that _____payment details______.
I wanted to touch base to make sure everything goes smoothly for your event 🙂
First, when I’m doing ____art form______, I just need ______table, chair, shade, heat, etc______. I’ll be doing that for most of the party, and then “leave” your event to go to my car and put the mascot suit over my street clothes.
Then, when I go to my car, an adult should come with me to help me back to the party because the suit has almost no visibility. I can’t walk or see the time or anything, so that adult should also stand with me for the entire 30min visit to keep everyone safe. Can you let me know who will be able to do that with me?
Thanks so much! I can’t wait to visit your party 🙂
Pro-Tips
- Collect money before you put the suit on
- Offer the client or handler to put on your head so they can experience how little visibility you have
- Show them two signs: (1) time check (2) I need to leave
- Remind them you can’t talk except yes or no answers
Your Rights
The client is alerted of the following before they even hire us. But they’ve probably forgotten, so you’ll have to remind them again. (This is also in the safety contract you signed)
- You can only be in the mascot suit a max of 30min if it’s over 75*F
- You can only be in the mascot suit for a max of 45min in any weather
- For every 45min in the suit, you get 15min paid break (1hr scheduled time = 45min in suit + 15min break)
- If they don’t follow the time / heat rules, you can leave and they still have to pay
- You MUST have an adult from the party as your “handler” (aka security guard)
- If a child begins hitting you and the handler doesn’t do anything about it, you can leave and they need to still pay
- WE WILL NEVER be mad at you for leaving a party for your safety
