Hair Art 101

There are 3 things we bring to hair art parties:

  1. Glitter gel
  2. Hair tinsel
  3. Hair chalk

If you have a long line, guests can choose 1-2 of the 3.

If you have extra time, guests can choose up to all 3.

Glitter gel tutorial:

*******Ignore the glitter looks part of this. Pay attention to how I put it in my hair*********

For straight or wavey hair: apply exactly like in the video

For very curly or kinky hair: let the guest know their hair type might take an extra wash to come out. Ask how much they want to put in their hair.

Here’s what your final results should look like:

Tinsel tutorials:

For straight, wavy, curly, or kinky hair: Apply as shown in tutorials

For braids or dreads: Let the client pick if they would like it hanging lose (like in the tutorial) or wrapped around their braid/dread. To wrap around the braid/dread, add two pieces of tinsel to the top of their hair (like in the tutorials) and then wrap one clockwise and one counterclockwise. See photos.

Hair chalk tutorial:

For straight, wavy, curly, or kinky hair: Apply as shown in tutorials

For fried blonde or bleached-to-death hair: let them know that if their hair has damage, it may absorb some of the pigment and stain for a few washes because it’s so porus.

For braids, extensions, or wigs: the chalk is designed for human hair and may be hard to wash out. Let the client know this and they can decide.

For dreads: it may be hard to wash out. Let the client know this and they can decide.
